Pals Blog Hop October 2014
Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop October 2014. We’re celebrating the Halloween and harvest season, this month, sharing projects using wonderful Stampin’ Up! supplies and tools.
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Angie Valle-Peters at Paperluxuries, #31 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.
I decided to share two quick and easy cards today. You won’t find the stamps in the Stampin’ Up! store or catalog. These stamps were included in the September 2014 Paper Pumpkin Kit. Are you a subscriber?
The first card, “Here’s Lookin’ at You”, uses the Motley Monsters Designer Series Paper (#135819), Bright Candy Dots (#130931) and White Stampin’ Emboss Powder (#109132) You probably notice the dreaded white specs from stray embossing powder. Normally I would have started over. However, this time, the effect was perfect.
The eyes have it and are simple to create. Just punch partial ovals and circles with the Small Oval Punch (#120908) and the 3/4″ Circle Punch (#119873). Top them off with little black pupils. Try using different colors for the eyes. You could come up with some super ghoulish results.
A maple leaf from Autumn Accents Bigz Die (#127812) for the Big Shot (#113439) creates a non-traditional ghost. Isn’t he cute, all decked out for fall? His facial features are drawn on with one of the Project Life Journaling Pens (#135304). I love these pens!
The chalkboard technique creates the fog behind the little ghost. Look close, you’ll see a shadow created with Dazzlin’ Diamonds Glimmer Paper (#135315).
Now it’s time to hop through again and give your favorite projects a second look.
The next stop is Candy Ford at Stamp Candy, #1 on the Pals Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us. Hope to see you next month (November 12, 2014) for “So Thankful” themed projects.

For the first time ever, I made it all the way through the blog hop and am so glad I did! I love your cards and think they saved the best for last! Simple yet very creative and full of Wow! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you Susan. I love being last. 🙂
OMG, Rae! Sooooooo creative and clever, as always! I can’t decide which one I like the bestest…the eyes are spooktacular, but the leaf ghostie is cute and SO unexpected!
Thank you Terri…. my fav are the eyes.
Oh, Rae, I laughed at both of these. They are SO cute and you are SO creative!
Thank you Dawn.
Rae, I love your cards! I think your ghost is brilliant! I love using items in unusual ways and this is perfect.
Thank you Debbie. 🙂
Rae, your spooky leaf takes me outside the box. I love the dazzling shadow. You are right – the stray embossing is perfect for this card – I bet you planned that!
Lol Sue! I wish I could say “yes” to the plan but I was just lazy and didn’t use my Embossing Buddy. Thank you so much
LOVE your leaf card…soooo cute!!!
Thanks a million Dawn.
I LOVE these cards, Rae! I like how the design is ultra-simple, which makes the card look both iconic and completely amazing!
Thanks a bunch Amanda!
