Pals Cool Tools Blog Hop
Welcome to the Pals Cool Tools Blog Hop for August 2014. This month we are showing off our favorite crafting tools – those Stampin’ Up! tools that we just can’t live without. We hope you enjoy our projects!
You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Brian King of Stamp with Brian, #5 on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all of the amazing creations.
I have two projects today showing completely different styles. They both have one thing in common, the tool. Let’s see if you can guess what the tool is.
We’ll start with a down-to-earth, little note card using the Kinda Eclectic Stamp Set (#135350).
Clue #1: The tool I’m using is not a punch or a stamp set.
The second project is a glitzy, glamor card using the Bravo photopolymer set (#135380).
Clue #2: It’s not a Big Shot (#113439) or the Stars Framelits (#133723). It’s not even the Magnetic Platform (#130658). Have you figured it out yet?
It’s not glamorous or obvious and not even expensive. Are you ready for the answer? It’s the plain-Jane Adhesive Remover (#103684).
Have you figured out how it was used? If you guessed as a stamp, you’re absolutely right! After one of my favorite background stamps retired, I’ve been on the hunt for a replacement and found it right under my nose.
Try using it in different ways. You could even create snow! Don’t you just love finding multiple uses for simple tools? Instead of taking any more time away from the hop, I’ll send you on your way. If you’d like more info on these projects, I’ll have them in the next edition of the Wild West Gazette. Now, on with the hop!
The next stop is Debbie Mageed of Secret Stamper, #7 on the Pals Blog Hop! Thanks for visiting and I hope to see you next month. The Hop List is long this month but you don’t want to miss a thing! Happy Hopping!

What? Use the adhesive remover for something other than removing adhesive? Love it! Thank you for this most useful tip!
Thank you Jane! If it weren’t for Stampin’ Up! retiring a favorite background stamp of mine I wouldn’t have even thought about it. 🙂
I’m totally going to make it snow in NC with my adhesive remover! Thanks for the tip, Kim. Great job!
Everyone can have a white Christmas this year! Thanks Becky.
i use my adhesive eraser a lot because i use glue on every card but would never in a million years thought to use it to create as in stamping – i bet snow looks incredible with it
Martie… you know what they say, “Necessity is the mother of invention!” Thanks a bunch!
OMG Rae, what a great idea. Who da thought.
and such lovely cards too.
Lynn
Thanks a bunch Lynn. Sometimes the old brain comes up with some doozies. 😉
Rae, I cannot wait to take your tip and make snow on my holiday cards. Thanks for sharing!
Diane, I can see the headlines now…. “Strange blanket of snow settles over the card maker blogs.”
Great alternative use of the adhesive remover! I love mine and always have it close by (not implying that I’m messy or anything – ya’ just never know when glue will ooze out where you don’t want it!) 🙂 TFS this awesome tip!
Nancy…. I compare white glue to mustard. It gets everywhere! Thanks for the great comment.
I love my adhesive remover but I would NEVER have thought to use it as a stamp. Creative Genius at Work!
We do have a lot of genius in this great group of Pals. This blog hop is evidence for sure! Thank you so much for your comment.
Yea for my buddy the adhesive remover. Never glue without it!
Great idea and lovin’ the Kinda Eclectic set. Very creative.
Thank you Kalyn. I couldn’t have said any better. 🙂
Rae…you are so clever! I love my adhesive remover but NEVER thought of using it as a stamp! Looks like you heat embossed on the star card. Love it!
You’re absolutely correct Donna. The gold embossing against the black makes it look a bit like gold dust. Thank you so much!
What a fabulous idea!!! Thank you!!,
Thank you Cindie!
That’s a great idea! I love the adhesive remover for it’s traditional use, never thought of using it as a stamp! Cool!
Thank you Lisa… Have ink will stamp, with anything!
What a wonderful idea! I would have never thought of that, but I love the details and texture it adds!
In the words of the great philosopher, “Mikey”, “Try it, you’ll like it!” Thanks a bunch Jackie.
That’s SO smart and ingenious! Love it Rae!
Thank you Natalie. So glad you enjoyed the tip.
Fantastically creative, Rae! Wow, I am assuming that you have one for stamping and one for adhesive removal. Does the stampin’ scrubber work well with it? I am going to have to try this!
Debbie, actually no, I only have one. However, I think I’ll invest in a second one soon. I took the picture AFTER I made the cards and it cleaned up nicely. I used the Cleaner once and then just ran it under warm water the second time. I think I like the water method better. Thank you!
You are a rock star! I love your idea and pinned the star card – thanks for the inspiration!
Thank you, thank you Sue for the great comment and the PIN! Rock on!
How ingenious of you Rae!! Great idea and one of my favorite unsung tools:)
Thank you Shannon! Been teaching mine how to sing for a while now. 😉
So creative…I do not even own one but think I will put on my order tomorrow. Thanks for the info.
Thanks a bunch Windy… Oh no, have I now met 2 perfect paper crafters? LOL!
Rae, I certainly never would have guessed… what a fun background option!!
Thanks Katy! “Fun”, that’s my middle name. 😉
Very creative, Rae!
Thanks a bunch Susan. You never know what you’ll find in the Wild West. 😉
Totally awesome use of the adhesive remover!
Thank you Amy!
Great Idea, I don’t have the adhesive remover. It will be on my next order. 🙂
What, no Adhesive Remover? Have I met the perfect paper crafter? LOL! Thank you!
I love this, Rae! What a super-fun use of the adhesive remover (a tool that’s always by my work space).
Thanks Brian! As you can see, I use mine too. It’s always within reach.
Such a ” cool” idea. thanks for sharing
Thank you Sherrie. 🙂
Great idea and lovely cards.
Thanks a bunch Kim!
