Pile on the Snow!
Pile on the Snow
Pile on the Snow
Hello, welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month our Design Team’s theme is “Pile It On” – showcasing their card/project with layers of DSP and/or embellishments for any occasion. We hope you enjoy and will be inspired by them! Don’t forget to leave comments! We love hearing from you. At the end of my post, you will find the full line-up to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.
We’re in a drought here in Northern Nevada so it’s time to Pile on the Snow starting with this cute gift tag.
As the theme suggests, there’s a lot going on with my project. Don’t let that scare you, it’s really quite easy if you follow my steps below.
- Start with a piece of heavy Whisper White cardstock for a base 3-1/4″ x 5-1/2″. Trim the corners and punch a hole at the top for ribbon.
- Cut DSP the 2-1/2″ x 5-1/2″. Glue on the right side of the base.
- Cut Whisper White cardstock (standard weight) 2-1/2″ x 5″. Die cut with Quite Curvy dies then emboss with Winter Splendor embossing folder.
- Using Misty Moonlight Classic Ink and the Stamp Off method, stamp the lightly snowflakes randomly on the tag.
- Attach a Square Vellum Doily to the tag with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Stamp the snowman on Whisper White with Misty Moonlight Classic Ink. Die-cut it. Stamp greeting on Whisper White, die-cut. Die cut snowman. Also die cut the Snowman twice from Blue Glimmer Paper. Why twice? So you can build an aura around the Snowman.
- Stamp tag with Misty Moonlight Classic Ink. Die cut tag in Whisper White and Balmy Blue Glimmer Paper. Layer using Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Color snowman with Stampin’ Blends. I used a combination of blues, Cherry Cobbler, Old Olive, Smokey Slate and the Blender. I then outlined him a bit with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker.
- Attach to blue glimmer paper with Multipurpose Liquid Glue.
- Attach snowman to tag base. Embellish with your choice of gems. I used a combination of Blue Adhesive Backed Gems and Adhesive Backed Snowflakes.
- Finally, grab a Sponge Dauber and ink the edges with Misty Moonlight Classic Ink. Then, rough up the edges with your Snips.
Now, wasn’t that easy?!
More inspiration awaits! Use the Blog Hop Line-up below to visit the rest of this month’s Design Team. My fellow Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Mark your calendars for our next blog hop on December 9th when our theme is “Goodbye September Mini Catalog and Hello January Mini Catalog.” Participants showcase their favorites from the retiring holiday catalog or new products from the new mini catalog. Don’t miss the fun! Until then, please stay safe and have fun in your craft space.
