PPA231 Color Challenge with my Pals
Welcome to the PPA231 Color Challenge from Pals Paper Arts. Bermuda Bay, Pool Party and Soft Sky, not traditional Christmas colors but this cool trio is perfect for any winter holiday.
Inspiration for this card came from browsing Pinterest. The basic foundation is very similar but the style and end result is completely different. The inspiration piece is a square card created with earth tones and lots of machine stitching and distressing.
Look close and you’ll see two different embossing folders. The first, Polka Dots (#133739) was embossed on the card base. The second folder, Stylish Stripes (#132174) is embossed on the front piece AFTER it’s die-cut with the Star Collection Framelits (#133723). If you emboss before cutting the stars the texture will flatten. I’m talking from experience. 🙂 I just had to find out how flat it would be. Well…. pretty flat.
Surprise! An unexpected effect appeared on the inside, debossed Polka Dots! Add the leftover stars and the inside becomes as interesting as the outside.
The front is finished off with “Joy” from the Wonderful Wreath Framelit Die Set (#135851). Adding a shadow is as easy as cutting two of the same words from different cardstock or Designer Series Paper and overlapping them when gluing down.
Now, it’s your turn. What will you come up with using this cool trio of colors?
