PPA238 Color Challenge with the Pals
Welcome to Thursday’s PPA238 Color Challenge with the Pals, a great color pallet just in time for
Valentine’s Day.
I’m not a huge fan of pinks. To compensate, I used only a bit of them against a backdrop of white, accented with lots of paper-piercing. Love that paper-piercing.
Another thing I’ve fallen in love with, Thinlets, like the Hello You Thinlets Dies (#137363). And Framelits and Edgelits and……. But, for today, let’s talk about Thinlets.
What’s the trick to pulling the image out of a Thinlet? Dryer sheets! WHAT??? You heard me right. Here’s the reason. The dryer sheets pull all of the little “chads” (yes I sad that word) and release the paper from the image. Don’t worry, you won’t use up all your dryer sheets. You use them over and over.
Now, get out your Big Shot, Magnetic Platform and one of those Thinlets you’ve put on the back burner because it takes forever to pull out those little tiny pieces of paper (chads). Next, you’ll need the following additional items:
- Card Stock
- Dryer Sheets (4)
Now your build your “sandwich”. Stack the pieces in the following order.
- Magnetic
- Clear Cutting Plate
- Dryer Sheets – Unfold, stack, then fold in half ending up with 8 plies.
- Card stock
- Thinlet, cutting edge down, against the wax paper
- Clear Cutting Plate
Sounds complicated, right? Try it. It’s so successful, you won’t forget it!
Next, remove your image. If you’ve stacked everything correctly, the image should pop right out of the Thinlet while leaving all of those little hanging chads behind on the dryer sheet. Voila! There you have it.
DON’T THROW THOSE DRYER SHEETS AWAY! You can use them over, and over, and over. Also, if the wax paper stays in your Thinlet, perfect! Leave it in the Thinlet.
One last comment…. don’t forget your Paper-Piercing Tools. They’re such an easy way to add style to your project without additional weight or bulk. Your Postal Carrier will LOVE YOU and your postage costs will be less.
Now, head over to Pals Paper Arts and play with us. Not ready to play? No problem… lot’s of inspiration too.
