PPA243 Color Challenge with the Pals
Are you ready for PPA243 Color Challenge with the Pals? I am. Especially with this beautiful trio of colors. Pink Pirouette, Pistachio Pudding and Soft Sky come together creating the perfect pallet for Easter, Mother’s Day and your spring All Occasion Cards.
With the cancellation of the Blendabilities Alcohol Marker line it’s time to pull out other tried and true coloring options offered by Stampin’ Up! Today’s card is created with a combination of Aqua Painters, Classic Ink Refills and Stampin’ Write Markers. Why use Stampin’ Write Markers with Aqua Painters and refill ink? Detail. After your water coloring is dry use your Watercolor Markers to give some sharp detail to your creation.
Take a close look at the flower stems and leaves to see this technique in action.
Another technique used is a form of “Spot Lighting”. Instead of spotlighting an area to highlight color, it’s used to emphasize a phrase. Handpicked Framelit + Love is Kindness Stamp = Perfect combo!
Now, about those Blendabilties. Stampin’ Up! proves again what a great company they are. Instead of continuing to sell markers that have a high fail rate, they’ve taken the lead and removed them from their offering. Now That’s Wild!
The following Q&A list from Stampin’ Up! should help answer some of your questions.
Q: What are the quality problems with this product?
A: When the tip is welded to the barrel, the welding process can leave microscopic (invisible) holes in the marker tip. This leads to accelerated evaporation of the alcohol in the ink.Q: Are all Blendabilities markers defective?
A: No. Most Blendabilities markers work as intended.Q: Why did it take so long for Stampin’ Up! to discover this problem?
A: Over the months we’ve noticed quality issues with this product, but they were within normal tolerance. We’ve also received some great feedback and know that many of you have thoroughly enjoyed working with Blendabilities. However, when corrections and complaints became more and more frequent, we increased the sophistication of our quality testing. This led to discoveries that meant we had a serious problem with the product line. Although these are still great markers, our manufacturer is now reporting a 30 to 40 percent fail rate before they are shipped to Stampin’ Up!—which is unacceptable.
How do I handle my defective or backordered items?
Q: I purchased and received Blendabilities. They are defective.
A: Do nothing. The refund will be automatically processed within the next month.Q: How will customers (with backordered Blendabilities) be notified if they need to obtain a refund or select another product?
A: Customers who purchased Blendabilities via the online store will be contacted by Stampin’ Up!, so feel free to let them know that we’ll be getting in touch with them.
Finally, if you’ve purchased Blendabilities from me and have questions, please send me an email. I’ll do my best to answer your questions and concerns, contacting Stamipin’ Up! if needed.
Meanwhile…. pull out your Stampin’ Write markers, Aqua Painters and Blender Pens to color away! Then, play with us at Pals Paper Arts this week.
