Sail Away with PPA203
It’s my favorite day of the week, Thursday. Time to Sail Away with PPA203 and play with Pals Paper Arts. The color challenge this week is a rich combination of Cajun Craze, Night of Navy and Very Vanilla. Perfect for a masculine card for your favorite sailor.
As mentioned on the Wild West Paper Arts Facebook page, I’ll be using at least one retiring product in all of my posts this month. Today, there’s just one. Can you guess what it is?
If you guess the Square Lattice Textured Embossing Folder, you’d be correct.
It’s one of my favorite embossing folders. Easy to make your project look like cloth. One of the first projects I created with it resembling a quilt, a few years ago. I’m sad to see it go but now that it’s going there’s more room in the new catalog for some new favorites. So long, it’s been nice to know you Square Lattice,
Great news, The Open Sea will be around another year. It’s perfect for a solid masculine card.
Oval Framelits made it easy to create the layered window, framed with Gold Baker’s Twine. The Baker’s Twine was attached with spots of Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue at each loop as well as under the anchor. Cajun Craze Candy Dots pull it all together. Such a regal card that’s easy to create.
Today’s Featured Items:

Don’t forget to play with us this week at Pals Paper Arts. Sail Away with PPA203. I can’t wait to see your creation!
Thank you for spending time with me in the Wild West
I’m loving that rope! I haven’t used this set in a while….. perhaps it’s time to dust it off!
Thank you Nicole! The “rope” is one of those…. “it just needs something more” additions. 🙂
Love the way you used the baker’s twine!
Wow, Rae, this is fabulous! I love what you did with the “rope”! I finally bought this embossing folder and used it on an upcoming card. LOVE it.
Thanks a bunch Michelle. The Square Lattice Folder is perfect for making paper look like fabric.
The embossing folder on the blue almost looks like leather, Rae. Gorgeous! Love the elegance of your card!
Peggy, now that you mention it, I guess it does. Thank you!
Absolutely love this card!!! Fantastic job!!! Both the Open Sea and By the Tide are all time favorites. I don’t know what I’m going to do without the square lattice embossing folder!! I use that for everything!!! Anyway, fabulous job Rae!!
I don’t have By the Tide but I sure have seen some beautiful artwork with it. Thank you Amy!
Fabulous card Rae! Love the “rope” embellishment with the anchor. You rocked this. Challenge!
Thanks a bunch Michelle. The rope was a “just one more” thing element. Glad I did.
I feel like sailing away after seeing your card! It has the perfect nautical feel! The anchor and Baker’s Twine, along with the corner brads, are the perfect embellishments! I’m going to miss the Square Lattice Folder too. 🙁
Thank you Dawn. My husband was watching Quigley Down Under today when I realized I could use this ship for a Wild West theme too! Who knew?
Rae this a beautiful card! A few of us were on a nautical theme this week…I love it when this happens! I am also going to miss that embossing folder, it was a go-to for me for masculine cards. But you are right, it is time to get new favorites.
Thank you for the great comment Diane. So many tears to shed for retiring items but we’ll be jumping for joy soon!
