Sending Good Thoughts
Sometimes a regular old envelope just won’t do. Sending good thoughts are extra special when sealed up in a gift bag adorned with just the right flower and phrase. Wouldn’t you love to receive a card all wrapped up like this? With the right supplies and tools, it’s a snap.
Start with some cute Chevron or Polka Dot Gift Bags.
Decorate with a Tea Lace Doily (#129399), a few banners, some Thick Baker’s Twine (#135638) and a great sentiment from Perfect Pennants (Item #133230). Top it off with a cute handmade paper flower.
The flower looks more difficult than it is. Since learning how easy these blossoms are to create they’ve been sprouting up all over the Wild West Tack Room. This crumpled, vintage looking flower is perfect for a Wild West project. You’ll need:
- Some Designer Series Paper (Lullaby Item #133695 is shown here) – Don’t miss the Buy 3 Get 1 DSP Free!
- A floral punch like the Blossom Punch (Item #125603)
- Some Glue Dots (Item #103683)
- Multi-Purpose Liquid Glue (Item #110755); and
- Paper Snips (Item #103579).
- A Bone Folder (Item #102300) and Quilling Tool are helpful to curl the petals. Don’t have a Quilling Tool? You can also use Stampin’ Up!s Paper-Piercing Tool (Item #126189)
Of course you’ll need a note card to place inside the bag. This one was whipped up using My Digital Studio. By changing to opacity of the image you can give a simple piece of paper a beautiful background that’s light enough to write over. I’ll be using this image over and over.

Thank you Chris! It’s a fun “envelope” for sure.
I totally love this project! That flower looks fantastic with the thick baker’s twine and the banners! I sometimes make a card with too many embelishments on it so then I have to put it is a padded envelope and forgo a regular envelope. Imagine the surprise finding the embellished card inside this embellished beauty in the padded envelope?
