The CASE of the Evergreens
How’s your “Free”style Friday? Ready for a CASE? Welcome to the CASE of the Evergreens. Sounds like a “who-dunnit” doesn’t it. Well, in a sense it is.
While cruising through Pinterest for inspiration, I happened upon this card by Ruth Murphy. It’s so perfect it was difficult to think of any thing to change. If you heard some squeaking, it was probably the gears in my noggin.
Ruth used the very versatile Pennant Parade Stamp Set combined with the Petite Pennant Builder Punch to create these cute little trees. Stamp sets with coordinating punches are always a great combination.
The first change was the sentiment. Since I don’t have this one, this change was a no-brainer. I used Merry Christmas from More Merry Messages stamped with Gold Metallic Encore Ink.
Next, to choose a background color that compliments the Encore Gold Ink. Baked Brown Sugar does exactly that. In the right light, Baked Brown Sugar looks gold. This warm brown is so cool.Lastly a little star, punched from Champagne Glimmer Paper, sits atop the center tree. Finished!
Have you found a favorite card or project on Pinterest? As you can see it doesn’t take many changes to make it your own.

Hi did you use ribbon for the trunks of the tree? and what punch did you use for the background? I love both cards. Excellent ideas.
Yes, ribbon was used for the tree trunks. The background is 2-3/8″ scallop circle. Thank you for taking the time to comment. 🙂
Delightful card Rae….so easy and yes….so perfect. Well done. I do however Pintrest should come with a health warning…..sheesh….. 🙂 ooxx
Love it Lynda… I agree. “Enter at your own risk” I wonder if anyone has called in sick to work because of Pinterestitis. 😉
Thank you for the great comment.
Cute! Today, I was looking through a stack of stamps and saw this set and thought a card or tag would be fun to use with this set. I had just seen it on another blog, maybe Mary Fish? Anyway, I think you have something there – the Baked Brown Sugar really picks up the sentiment and I think makes the trees stand out even more. I do love the green card though that Ruth made. But, I don’t have the Encore Gold Ink yet. I was thinking also of a little mini card with maybe one of the trees on it and the word MERRY under it as a little card to go on a present. But, I do like all three trees together. Maybe it is just time to play! Thanks Rae for the fun card to play with!
Chris…. I think the Baked Brown Sugar ink would be perfect! I had a club today and this card was hands down the most popular. I like the tag idea too.
Thank you for the comment. 🙂
