Watercolor Songbird
Happy Spring! The clear sky is a beautiful blue, at least in Northern Nevada. A watercolor songbird would make the day just perfect. If you’re in a part of the world with icky weather, you can borrow my sweet little bird to brighten the day.
What makes a great day even more special? A Pals Paper Arts Challenge, of course! Sometimes the featured sketch leaves me scratching my head. Not this time. Requirements were:
- Beautiful Sunny Sky – Check
- Some Greenery – Check
- A Fine Feathered Friend – Check
All present and accounted for!
The beautiful sky was easy with Watercolor Wonder Designer Series Paper. Our fine feathered friend and greenery was punched with the Bird Builder Punch from Watercolor Wonder as well, A with a few scraps of Gumball Green card stock were added for good measure.
Daffodil Delight Seam Binding symbolizes the Forsythia that’s just starting to bud and a few sprigs of Linen Thread were added to resemble twigs left over from last year. Guess what’s going on in my yard this weekend?!
Did you notice the embossed banner? The Decorative Dots Textured Impressions Embossing Folder has got to be my favorite Sale-A-Bration item this year.
It could be used to simulate:
- Clouds
- Confetti
- Cotton
- Rain
- Snow
Can you think of anything else? Leave a comment with some ideas. I’d love to hear.
Only one problem with this embossing folder. There’s no guarantee it will be here after Sale-A-Bration ends on March 31, 2014. That’s only 11 days away. When you order from my Stampin’ Up! Online Store, don’t forget to use the current Hostess Code ADT3HBZZ. Don’t want to order online? No problem, send me an email (rae@wildwestpaperarts.com) or call 775-657-5959. I’ll help you any way I can.

This is such a pretty card, Rae. I love how you did some of the leaves with a soft printed DSP, as well as the bird. Really soft look with the watercolor paper. LOVE it! Thanks for sharing with us at Pals Paper Arts this week!
