When My Mind Wanders
Part of creating the perfect card or piece of art is knowing when to stop. But when my mind wanders you never know what will happen. This wandering creation was my entry for Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge PPA210.
At first glance, this color pallet wanted to jump onto a piece of Whisper White cardstock. Since there seems to be an abundance of white in the Wild West these days (at least on on the blog) I decided to get a little earthy. That and I just happened to pick up a piece of Crumb Cake card stock that was cut and scored for a card.
Here’s how it all started. Just a quick hit with a couple of stamps from Bloom with Hope Hostess Stamp Set in Basic Gray Classic Ink. Hmm… not too bad for a simple card.
Next, Blender Pens took a dip into Pool Party and colored the petals from the middle out. Then Lost Lagoon got in on the fun. Sure hope they weren’t skinny dipping. The icing on the cake was little dots and dashes with a White Signo Pen. Perfect!
But wait, there’s more!
A little dot here, a little dot there and look what happened. I think Pool Party and Lost Lagoon were splashing a little too much. Let’s straighten them out with a few lines of scoring.
Whew! We’re done. See what happens when you open up the pool to just any idea?
Lesson: Don’t be afraid to play with pens. Be it Blendabilities, Stampin’ Write Markers, Blender Pens or a White Signo Pen, the possibilities are endless! When my mind wanders it can be a good thing. How about yours? Come out to play with Pals Paper Arts. A new Color Challenge starts this Thursday.
I can’t let you go until I show you the fantastic stamp set used to create this little gem.
Bloom with Hope (#133952) is an 11 piece stamp set that can only be gotten with Hostess Benefits. If you were able to purchase Bloom with Hope, it would cost between $27.95 and $37.95 depending on clear or wood mount options. When you use your Hostess Credits with a qualifying order or party, it only costs $17 for Clear Mount or $23 for Wood Mount. Come back on Thursday to see another creation with this set for the next Pals Paper Arts Color Challenge. This set will have a lot of miles on it when it retires.
Thank you so much for stopping by.
Have a Wildly Creative Day
