So many reasons to celebrate come this time of year.  From Dad's Day and Graduation to USA's 236th Birthday, you can find parties everywhere.  And don't forget picnics, barbecues and summer!  Red, White & Blue, the colors chosen for PPA Challenge #136, are obvious to Independence Day, but have you ever thought of using them for celebrations like Graduation?  

Think about it.  In many countries, these three powerful colors are symbolic for Freedom and Independence.  Isn't that what we all thought about when we graduated from high school or college?  The star symbol makes it personal.  Punches make it easy.

Since my inspiration is the USA flag, I wanted the star to remain my focal point.  The "Stripes " Textured Impressions^© embossing folder helped me hint at the stripes on "Old Glory".

Finally, the inside.  To keep it versatile I needed a phrase that didn't SHOUT "4th of July".  Perfectly Penned did the job, elegantly. "Celebrate Today"  is framed with a template from the New Essentials Paper Piercing Pack .  I've always been a fan of paper piercing.  It adds just a bit of detail without going overboard.  These new templates match up with some of the punches and Framelits™ in our catalog.
