Decisions, Decisions
What happens when faced with too many choices of topics to post about? Absolutely NOTHING, that’s what! Making the choice between round or square wasn’t so bad. Now add colors, new specials for Stampin’Up!, celebrating 1,000 comments on the blog, and on, and on, and on and one might feel like they’re ready to implode! That’s when the word BREATHE comes in handy. Decisions, decisions.
I took a step back, baked a Lemon Meringue Pie for husband’s birthday then went out in the garden and pulled weeds. What do you do to decompress?
Now, let’s get to some fun. I decided to work both challenges together. Kind of fun to see how things come together when faced with so much structure. For me that much structure is a challenge in itself. Next, decide Round or Square. No problem, I’ll make both and see which one comes out the best.
Square seems quicker so let’s go there first. Step 1, pick paper and elements that incorporate the Pals Paper Arts color challenge (Lucky Limeade, Pool Party and Summer Starfruit).
Next, pick a stamp. I chose “Get Well” from the Delightful Dozen stamp set. I’m so glad it’s not retiring this year. Ooo, I would hate to see this one go. It’s so versatile.
Put it all together and what do you get?A cheery get well for someone. Now, on to the round version.
Shaped cards are a favorite but they take a little more time. Many times I take the easy way out and opt for the traditional A2 or Square size. So glad I took the extra time to create the round version of the sketch.
The scalloped edge really makes the focal “Get Well” piece come to life. Which one do you like best?
I have a great idea! Let’s celebrate hitting 1,000 comments here on the Wild West Paper Arts blog. Are you game? I’ll make it really easy. Answer the question, “Which is your favorite, round or square?” by leaving a comment on this post by Midnight (PDT) on May 12, 2013. I’ll pick a winner to receive the Large Scallop Edgelits and Square Lattice Embossing Folder by Random Generator and post the winning name to Facebook and Twitter on Tuesday, May 14, 2013.
Meanwhile, here’s a list of Nuts & Bolts for today’s projects.

WOW. Thanks for joining us at Pals Paper Arts with you fantastic creations!
I’m loving these cards, Rae! So clean and bright, they are sure to cheer up anyone who is sick! Thanks for playing with us at Pals Paper Arts! 🙂
I like them both! It all depends on what mood I am in a the time. I seem to make more square! Both your cards are great!
I love the beautiful round one
Choices, choices…., but I pick the round card. Dare to be different. The bow with the pearl just adds a little pop and dimension.
I’m liking both cards but loving the round one.
Square for sure…. I love cards that are eady to display!
Both cards are beautiful. Personal favorite is the square.
Both cards are beautifully done, but I prefer the round one. I really like the colors together too.
Rae, these are really beautiful…
I prefer the square card on this design. But again, you have hit homeruns on both.
I love them both! But my eye is definitely drawn to the circle. And The font on the get well sentiment just solidifies that design imo!
Rae, Delightful Dozen is NOT retiring. I am so glad it will be around for a while.
Thanks Sue! I must have marked my book up incorrectly. I’ll fix it pronto!
Wow, I have to pick?? I like the square card better, don’t go out of the box too often…but love it when I do!
I like the square. But both of your cards today are great!
I’m a round girl who likes the round card. We have lots in common. 🙂
