Happy Butterfly Basics Birthday
Happy Friday All! Hope this week has treated you well. Can’t complain, myself. So excited that I’m back to creating on a regular basis. Whew… my DH has sure had a run with bad health this year. Remember, a while back when I talked about Free-Style Friday? Well, it’s been a while and time for a re-birth, starting with this “Happy Butterfly Basics Birthday” card.
The concept of Freestyle Friday is to share. Here’s the idea from my original post…
“What in the world is Free-Style Friday? It can be many, many things. Basically, my Friday themes will have something to do with the word “Free”. Here are some examples of what you could see ….
- A Free Tutorial
- Freedom Themed Project
- Something “Freeky”
- A Freestyle Project
- Blog Candy
- And so on…. get the idea?
You’ll have to check the blog to find out what the “Freebie” for the current Friday is. Who knows what else I’ll think up. Whatever suits me on that day.”
Back to the current project. You may ask… what in the world does “Free” have to do with this card?” It’s a subtle reminder that there’s tons of FREE inspiration around us if we’re just willing to observe. Just always remember to give credit to the one that inspires you when possible.
Inspiration for this card comes from a member of my team of Wild West Crafters, Karen Gooch of Inker’s Workshop. Karen created the original (seen below) for our 2015 New Catalog Stamp Camp. (psst… be on the look out for the 2015 Wild West Holiday Stamp Camp on September 26, 2015).
I just loved the idea of stamping on a Window Sheet (#114323) with StazOn Ink Solvent Ink (#101406) to create this three dimensional effect. I didn’t have the stamp set she used (World of Dreams #134183). No problem, the substitute (Butterfly Basics #137154) worked just as well.
Adhere a jewel like this Basic Pearl (#119247) to the stamped image, under the Window Sheet for a little elegance. Don’t forget to decorate the envelope for a beautifully finished set.
And, there you have it… Free-Style Friday with Happy Butterfly Basics Birthday and help from my friend, Karen Gooch!

Pretty card. Sort of tone on tone or whatever the term is. The window sheet gives it a little dimension too. I just might have to try this sometime. Anyway, I like it a lot! The inspiration card is gorgeous too!
Free is always good in my book!
Hope all is well.
