CASE the Catty Blog Hop
Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for February 2016. We’re so glad you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes. This month we are CASE-ing a project shown in a current Stampin’ Up! catalog. After all, with the Annual, Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs available right now, there is much inspiration to choose from. We hope you enjoy our creations.
You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below. The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.
The catalog project I chose to CASE (Copy And Share Everything) is featured on page 126 of the 2015-2016 Annual Catalog. So soft and pretty with a touch of dirt. Yes, I said dirt.
Although the basic idea is the same, some product used to embellish the card were not in my “Tack Room”. No problem, a CASE doesn’t have to be exact. What did I change?
- Removed the Sahara Sand Lace Trim, Venetian Crochet Trim and Classy Designer Button
- Used Timeless Textures Stamp Set instead of ink spatters
- Replaced white button flower center with Blossom Accent
- Added white sequins from Love Blossoms Artisan Embellishment Kit
- Added Metal Rimmed Pearl to vellum flower center
- Replaced “Friends” stamp from Teeny Tiny Wishes with Bloomin’ Love Stamp Set
- Used Botanical Gardens Designer Series Vellum for the vellum flower
There’s one more change. Can you find it? If you can, please leave a comment below.
Thanks again for joining us for this CASE the Catty Blog Hop. To continue with the hop, please refer to the Blog Hop Line-up below. We hope to see you on next month’s Pals Blog Hop!

Okay, so Rae… when your site opened and I saw your card, I said “OH” out loud… That’s it, just OHHH! and OHHH! again. It’s gorgeous. And, thank you again for all you do to make the Hop happen for us.
Thank you so much Debbie. And… thank you for the compliment on the Blog Hop but believe me, it takes a village including all the hoppers. Especially when it comes to keeping me straight. Thanks again.
Rae, this is so beautiful and I do believe I skipped over this in the catty! I love this stamp & punch and used it just the other night and will use it again for my class this week. Is the card in the catty square? Is that the difference? You don’t have the little fabric tag that says “Friend” to the left of the main flower. Maybe that’s it, if 2 guesses are allowed.
TFS
Thank you for such a great comment Nancy! The “Friend” tag is definitely missing but the “changed” item I’m thinking of is even more subtle. 🙂
Looks like you also added some Linen Thread. A beautiful CASE!
Yes, I did add more than the original but hat’s not it. Thank you for commenting and making a guess Jackie!
Gorgeous as always, Rae. Pinned immediately!
Thank you Terri!
So many elements that delight and surprise! Love!
Thank you Tricia!
My favorite part is those shiny sequins against the heart–two contrasting ideas that work so well together. Beautiful, Rae!
Thank you Patti… great comment! My favorite “get up” was always a nice pair of jeans, some great boots, a blazer, pearls and lace.
Stunning – and so YOU! A feminine, rustic card that will make anyone feel special! Absolutely love it!!
Thank you Debbie! Feminine Rustic…. I do believe you finally nailed my basic style! Thank you. I’ll use that description now.
Rae this is a wonderful use of embellishments. I’m always impressed with designs like this that are so successful using the colors and mixed embellishments to make such a beautiful layout. Brava!
Thank you Kalyn! Fun to throw out a few mixed embellishments and see what comes out.
What more is different? The linen swirl behind the two flowers? Also, the sample is stitched around the heart. I did not notice any stitching which also makes me wonder how you maintained the integrity of the heart that looks like it was made with white jute ribbon… adhered to a tacky backing and then die cut? Please share, Miss Rae!!
Rae, trust you to find a lovely but obscure sample to CASE… this is wonderful. I love both versions!! Off to pin, Pal….
Hmm Katy… you came up with even more than I thought of but there’s one more that I was thinking of. I’ll post the answer tomorrow.
Thank you for the wonderful comment!
