Apron Strings of Love for Mom
The term “apron strings” can carry an unwanted meaning, right? Not here. These apron strings of love have a little pinch of sweetness just right for Mom.
Forget the negative meaning, an apron symbolizes many things like love, dedication and caring, to name a few. I have several aprons given to me by friends and family that I adore. Some are handmade, some come from novelty stores. All are loved equally . In fact, several of them are displayed, proudly, in my kitchen.
When we think about apron strings, does Mom come to mind first? Maybe, but don’t forget about Dad with a BBQ apron and utensils. Even the apron strings of a caring friend can wrap around you like a warm hug.
Making the Cut: This fun little card was created for a “Card Buffet” project last weekend. Before you ask, “What were you thinking with all of those little die-cuts?”, take a look at the graphic below. All of the little cooking utensils are cut at the same time, in one die. The apron strings too. What a concept!
Apron Fabric: To create a great apron you’ll need the right fabric, I mean Designer Series Paper. The citrus pattern used here is from the Tutti Frutti 6×6 DSP stack. Take a look at these patterns. Don’t some of them remind you of of aprons on old television shows or in vintage shops?
Teeny Tiny Pieces: The only draw back of this bundle is teeny, tiny pieces, or more exactly, how to attach them. Yikes! I tried both Tombow Multipurpose Liquid Glue and the Fine Tip Glue Pen. The biggest concern is the stickiness left behind by Tombow. Fine Tip Glue wins this round.
The real reason this bundle made it to my workbench? A cookbook project. Have you been invited to a bridal shower? Use products used on this card plus some Memories and More products to create a gift from the heart.
Good news! Apron of Love Bundle + Tutti Frutti DSP = Level 1 Sale-A-Bration item. Now that’s wild! Purchase must be made on the same order by March 31, 2018. Use my monthly Host Code and you’ll also qualify for the current month’s Host Code Reward..
IMPORTANT NOTE: My FREE host code gifts are mailed separately from any order and will arrive in the month following the month in which they were earned, approximately mid-month.

Thank you Jenny. Happy to be your “Enabler”. Have fun with your new toys!
Rae this is an adorable card….yes and it’s a sentimental card as well at least for “women.” Colors are great and perfect, and all the framelits details are cute cute cute .. Well balanced design as well.
Thanks a million Jan.
I love this card. I would love to come by and attend one of your classes. I just haven’t found a way to get to Nevada from Georgia.
Thank you Linda. I’d love to have you. Beam me up Scotty!
Love your ideas and cards! I think I need to get this set as well as the Tutti Fruitti set so I can decorate baked goodies. I could even put the recipe in the pocket maybe… We have a new neighbor and maybe she would like to get inky or learn to make cards. I could whip up some banana bread or muffins and then use the paper with the bananas on it for the apron to decorate the bag to hold the goodies. Or, maybe blueberry muffins and use the mixed fruit paper so I don’t have to worry about nuts in the bread or if they are allergic to strawberries if I went that route.
I think the barbecue apron is another great idea as well as the gardening apron. With using the Tutti Fruitti paper – they are ripe for the picking if you ask me! Thanks Rae for helping me think outside the box!
Great ideas Chris! Thank you for your fantastic comment. I love the gardening apron idea and I know just who will get one as a welcome home thought.
