What’s my favorite new catalog product? Two-Tone Cardstock is a clear winner for me. Getting two tones from the same cardstock is genius!  One side is at full intensity and the flip side is a lighter version of that.  Not only that, the weight of the cardstock is perfect for die-cutting and layers. This project is an evolution. The embossed layers are left over from the last project I created with the beautiful Sunflowers 3D Embossing folder. Don’t throw your extra pieces away! I built the entire project around embossed scraps my last project. All that was left was embellishing.

Scraps even made their way to the inside of the card.

Construction

1. Score and burnish card base
2. Adhere layer 1 & mat to the card base
3. Emboss Layer 2 & Embossed Strip. Adhere Layer 2 to corresponding mat. Set strip aside for Step 8. Adhere layer 2 over Layer 1. (see photo for alignment.
4. Die-cut floral image from both Old Olive and Petunia Pop. Trim off blossoms. Adhere blossoms to Old Olive stems.
5. Arrange and adhere the floral image to embossed layer.
6. Stamp greeting [with Secret Sea Ink) on scrap white. Fussy Cut, adhere to Darling Duckling scrap. Fussy cut again leaving a narrow border showing behind the greeting. Adhere greeting to card front with mini-dimensionals.
7. Embellish with Starburst Sequins. (See photo)
8. Stamp inside sentiment on writing panel. Attach the embossed strip. Adhere to corresponding mat and then to card base inside.
