Birds of a Feather PPA157
Know what today is? National “Wear Your Pajamas to Work Day”. I’m not kidding. This sounds like a day to celebrate. Good thing I don’t have Skype on right now. You’d not only see my pajamas but orange juice rollers in my hair too. Do you have images of Maxine about now? Yep, me and Maxine, birds of a feather.
Which brings me to the project today. The sketch comes from Pals Paper Arts, challenge PPA157. Great inspiration comes with the bi-monthly Pals Paper Arts challenges. Have you played today?
My first thought with this sketch was “How can I simplify?” If you’ve followed this blog you’ll know I’ve been trying to develop CAS (Clean and Simple) projects while keeping a nostalgic flair. Well, at least most of the time.
Second, the “Birds of a Feather” DSP has been calling, “Use Me!” for quite some time. The quail reminds me so much of my grandma. She loved them. Grandma, this one’s for you.
The stamp set, A Little Greeting (#129111), has become a favorite. It ranks right up there with paper-piercing. The three little stamps fit almost anywhere. It’s affordable. It’s also available at a discount when you purchase the Boutique Boxes Bundle (#131104). What’s not to love. You’ll see one of the stamps used on A Little Mojo Monday Greeting from yesterday, along with elements from the Boutique Boxes Bundle.
Not a lot of product or techniques were used other than cutting out the quail and lifting up the wing on one of them. And, of course, paper-piercing.
Let’s get right to the Nuts & Bolts.
Stamps: A Little Greeting (#129111); Card Stock: Crumb cake (#120953), Whisper White (#100730); Designer Series Paper: Birds of a Feather (#126899); Ink & Coloring: Classic Ink (Island Indigo #122937); Embellishments: Brads (Neutral Collection #119736); Tools: Big Shot Machine (#113439), Framelits (Ovals #129387), Paper Snips (#103579), Stampin’ Trimmer (#126889), Piercing Packs (Occasions #129387), Paper-Piercing Tool (#126189), Stampin’ Pierce Mat (#126199); Adhesives: Glue Dots® (#103683), SNAIL Adhesive® Tape Runner (#104332), Stampin’ Dimensionals (#104430).
Click here to find out how you can work in your pajamas too! For the record, I WAS in my pajamas when I wrote this. 🙂 Now, off to take the Orange Juice Cans out and get into something more presentable. Something like, say, a robe!
Thank you for stopping and
Don’t forget to play at Pals Paper Arts today…
…in your pajamas, of course!
Rae, I loved this on our Pals Gallery, and love it even more here. Such beautiful colors!
I love Birds of a Feather! This is adorable!
Thank you Linda!
Such a cute card, Rae! Love the little quails!
Just looking at this card makes me happy! Love it!
Thank you Elaine. 🙂
Love, love, love quail! Cute card, never thought of cutting them out. I have a mama quail sitting on eggs right behind my garage right now.
They are the cutest birds, aren’t they? We have hundreds of little guys running around when they hatch. The challenge for us is keeping our bird dog, Jack away from them 🙂
